The main aspect to the design is the size. At just 1.36Kg you would expect a small number of devices and limited technology. This is an illusion as underneath the aluminium casing lays a full sized notebook with all the latest technology in place.
The popularity of Apple products gas soared with the success of both the ipod and the iphone and some of the features evident in these products have been migrated to the MacBook Air. You can pinch, swipe, rotate and zoom in using multi-touch technology.
The MacBook also utilises a smart LED display which allows for a thinner build and increased battery life due to the arsenic-free nature of the screen which illuminates instantly as the case is opened.
The Air hosts all necessary connection ports with a USB 2.0 port, a headphone jack and a micro-DVI port that supports DVI, VGA, and composite and S-video output.
The Air has above average memory storage boasting 2 GB of RAM memory and an 80GB hard drive, which will be more than adequate for most notebook users.
The processor has also been considered in terms of compactness and performance creating a custom-built chip which fits tightly into the case running at 1.6 or 1.8 GHz on Core 2 Duo.
The MacBook, despite its size, also manages to integrate a webcam, known as iSight, bundled with iChat software making video chat and conferencing simple and efficient.
Finally, the battery is extremely impressive, allowing for wireless connectivity for up to five hours, which bypasses most other known laptops. All in all, the MacBook air is portable, stylish and powerful, everything a laptop should be.
